We stayed here this past weekend to celebrate an uncles birthday. After being quoted $55 for a queen room for one night, we were told upon arrival that it was $74. After trying to fight them down, we caved and payed the $74. While standing at the front desk, I observed how they keep cards "on file" for reservations. They write your card number, expiration date, and CVV number down in a binder. As a former credit union employee, this is extremely dangerous! If someone got a hold of your info, it would be fraud city.
Beds were stiff and pillows were pancakes. The room was either freezing or scorching, and noise easily carries. They did have a good breakfast, I'll give them that. But it was $10 a plate.
Amazing day on the trails. Gear was warm, sleds were fast, and the food waiting back at the lodge hit the spot. We will definitely be making this trip again.
There aren't many lodging choices around, but if your debating between camping and lodging, get out your tent.
I have stayed at Strawberry a few times. I am giving this a 5 star because it was a quaint room with beautiful scenery once I walked out the doors. I have heard they are revamping the area and making an event center and lodge. I'm excited to see it in person!
They messed up my reservation twice. Extreme lack of communication on there part. The waitress at the cafe looked angry and annoyed the 2 times we went there. We were actually afraid to ask for any extra including salt! The burger was good the breakfast we got was horrible we asked for over easy eggs. One was barely cooked one was over medium and was over hard. The English muffin was not toasted. Definitely not worth 9 bucks a plate! There were big black spiders in our room. There were cobwebs everywhere. Obviously they don't spray. They're rooms are very very out of date and the entire lodge is in a state of disrepair. The money they're making is not going to that place It's going into someone's pockets. That place could be phenomenal given a little t.l.c. and money. Great location but they've turned it into a hovel. It's not a place I would ever ever go back to. We have a boat and I can think of a ton of better places to stay.
